Finding your purpose in life

Home Youth Corner Finding your purpose in life

Your purpose in life is what makes your legacy, and trust me there are no two people with the same purpose, and that is why no two people have the same legacy.

Deep down, everyone desires to leave behind a good legacy. Everyone on earth is meant to serve a certain purpose, represent an idea, or to present a possibility and help improve the next person’s life. Each individual have a responsibility to study oneself and figure out one’s potential.  Unfortunately many people spend their times trying to fit in and be accepted in cliques, studying and analysing others than themselves. They know so much about the next person’s weakness than their own strength. The more you study and know other people, the less time you have building yourself.

Challenge yourself today and spend time figuring out what you are good at and that uniqueness that none else have. Feed your mind and soul what none else can feed you. Knowing yourself is the foundation to something great. If you think your purpose is to do something that someone else is doing, you are wasting your time. Take a look at some of the great people in history:  Nelson Mandela, Jackson Kaujeua, Albert Einstein, Maria Theresa, you will realise they are never compared to anyone else;  because they all served the world in a unique way.

Most people are afraid to pursue their dreams because of what other people might say. It is normal for others to give different opinions, so don’t expect everyone to praise you or see the potential you see in yourself. Others’ opinions do not have to be your reality. Once you have find that spot in your life that utilises your potential, makes you happy and serves others, you have found your purpose.  It can be a job, a hobby, a talent or a role in the community. Your legacy does not need to be written in books, or broadcasted on tv;  your legacy is the memories you leave in the hearts of those you have touched with your work. You know you are serving your purpose if you will choose to do what you do over and over.
