Human remains discovered at Aminuis

A farmer in the Springwater area of Aminius constituency in the Omaheke region on Tuesday discovered a human skull and some other remains, as well as old clothes in an open field.

According to police, the skull was found without the lower jaw, and a few bones were scattered across the area. An old pair of black short trousers, a blue T-shirt and a pair of Play Boy shoes (size four) were also discovered next to the remains.

“The shoes were a distance apart and without shoe laces. The shoe laces were found tied to a tree and hanging. The shoe laces belong to the Play Boy shoes that the police discovered. The deceased is unknown at this time, and Aminuis does not have a pending missing person report,” said Omaheke Police spokesperson Fina Sakajengenga.

Aminuis constituency councillor Peter Kazongominja also confirmed the gruesome discovery and said the public should remain calm and allow the police to carry out their investigations.

“Yes, I can confirm that human remains were discovered at Springwater, but we do not have much information at this point, as everything is in the hands of the police. I must also urge the public to remain calm and assist the police with any information that will help identify who the deceased is. But for now, everything is with the police,” he said.
