Jekconia  drives off in  new  Toyota      …Standard Bank the blesser

Standard Bank Namibia has handed over a brand-new Toyota Hilux to Martin Jekconia, the grand prize winner of its Mastercard card usage campaign. The prize-giving followed a live draw competition held with three finalists, selected from qualifying customers nationwide.

Martin Jekconia was the grand prize winner of the Toyota Hilux, while the two runner-up finalists also walked away with valuable prizes. Hendrik Nangolo received a laptop and laptop bag, and Dumaza Sibanda received a N$5 000 shopping voucher. All finalists additionally received Standard Bank-branded hampers as a token of appreciation.

Speaking moments after receiving the keys to his first-ever vehicle, Jekconia said, “Namibia has over 3 million people, and I am just one of them — an ordinary person. But today, winning this car makes me feel like a millionaire. This is my first car ever, and I want to thank Standard Bank for making my dream come true.”

The campaign saw thousands of customers enter by using their Standard Bank cards for everyday transactions. Engagement was amplified across the country through initiatives such as the Blue Weekend Trolley Dashes, activations at the Ongwediva Trade Fair, Rundu Agriculture Show, and Windhoek Agricultural Show, as well as strong digital and traditional media visibility.

Standard Bank Namibia maintained full transparency throughout the campaign, with all stages of the draw audited and the final draw livestreamed on social media to ensure openness and public confidence.

Speaking at the event, Nolan Angermund, head of product at Standard Bank said,  “Today’s celebration is more than a prize-giving — it reflects our commitment to customers and to the collective progress of our nation. The success of the initiative was made possible through the support of Toyota Gobabis, Mastercard, and TBWMA, whose partnership helped expand digital banking awareness, financial literacy, and community engagement nationwide.”
