Life Fighters Football Club has finally climbed out of the relegation zone following a strong showing during last weekend’s Namibia Premier Football League (NPFL) round 15 fixtures.
The club now ranks 13th in the league standings after securing two victories, edging Young African FC 1-0 and defeating Tigers FC 3-2.
The wins mark a significant turnaround for Life Fighters, who have spent much of the 2025/2026 NPFL season in the relegation zone since the season kicked off in late October. With Life Fighters climbing out of the red zone, Tigers FC has moved in, alongside Rundu Chiefs and Julinho Athletic. Speaking after the weekend’s results, Life Fighters head coach Bricks Kaaronda expressed joy over his team’s improvement. While pleased with the progress, he emphasised that the hard work is far from over. “The league is a marathon, not a sprint. It is still too early for us to get excited, but we are happy to have moved out of the red zone. The focus now is to work even harder to maintain our position or move further up the rankings,” Kaaronda said. He added that the club’s main objective remains survival in the top flight and that they plan to strengthen the squad when the league resumes next month.
“We want to reinforce the team so that we are stronger and better prepared for the second half of the season. Our priority is to remain in the league,” he said. At the top of the table, Mighty Gunners continue to lead the NPFL standings. Despite a 2-0 loss to Young African, they retained their position after defeating Tigers 1-0. Eeshoke Chula Chula have climbed to second place on the log, while African Stars currently occupy third position as the league remains tightly contested.
