Mahindra mining bakkie makes for an easy choice

Mahindra mining bakkie makes for an easy choice

SWAKOPMUND – Mahindra single- cab bakkies are becoming increasingly popular at the Namibian coastline, particularly where heavy industry and mining companies operate.

These sturdy and reliable workhorses are preferred in both single and double-cab configurations for these labour-intensive industries, where reliability is not an option, but a necessity.

Speaking to Woema at M&Z Motors Swakopmund, sales manager Kobus Fourie pointed to a Mahindra single-cab that was converted specifically for the mining industry.

He said the mining specifications, available on order, offer a reinforced loading bay tough enough to move any business needs, and ready to take on any challenge. With impressive load capacity, ground clearance and a whole host of features focused on safety, the Mahindra workhorse can go the distance with ease and can transport cargo anywhere and everywhere it needs to be taken.

In addition, all the mining specifications are installed by authorised Mahindra technicians. This conversion saves mining companies time and money by providing a professionally- converted vehicle ready for industrial use.

The mining-specified Mahindra offers convenient accessibility for loading and a cargo net to keep essentials secure.

Since its entry to southern Africa in 2004 with the launch of the Mahindra Bolero, Mahindra has been a key player in the domestic automotive market. In 2005, the Mahindra Scorpio, a symbol of strength and reliability, debuted, followed by the Pik Up in 2007.  These rugged models laid the foundation for Mahindra’s growth.

Mahindra’s journey in southern Africa is a story of evolution. The brand, initially known for its bakkies, has now positioned itself as a leader in the SUV segment, with models like the XUV700, Scorpio-N, and now the XUV 3XO.

This transition represents Mahindra’s ability to innovate and adapt to changing consumer demands, offering vehicles that are tough yet sophisticated, with cutting-edge design, a premium quotient and advanced technology.

At the heart of Mahindra’s anniversary celebration is the launch of the much-awaited XUV 3XO, the latest addition to the brand’s next-generation of SUVs. Featuring cutting-edge technology, the XUV 3XO is powered by a turbo-charged 1.2-litre petrol engine.

“The launch of the XUV 3XO marks a significant milestone for Mahindra South Africa’s 20-year journey. With advanced technology, standout design, spirited performance, superior SUV comfort and truly world-class safety that defines the modern Mahindra brand.

“At the same time, it remains true to the core principles of quality, value and exceptional customer support that we have upheld since we first entered the market in 2004.”
