WINDHOEK-Dj Glob and Dj Zille known by their stage name, Makuru Nganga, recently made a disturbance abuzz via social networks and local radio stations with the release of their latest offering, an 18-Track album Waya-Waya.

The album which means “shake it” was released last December and started to gain momentum earlier this month. Dj Glob, who recently visited New Era offices, says him and Dj Zille met in 2005 when he was working as a radio presenter at the University of Namibia (Unam) radio station. “By the time, Dj Zille who was a student at the university, used to come in the studio for interviews and that time I was only a producer. I admired his stuff and hooked up with him so that we can join ventures. I work with him for a couple of years and we released our debut album, Dikushere, in 2011, which I produced myself,” says Dj Glob.

Their new album Waya-Waya is produced by a couple of producers such as Arrafat, K-Boz, Dj Chahelman and the legendary Dj Mandindo from Tanzania. “Makuru Nganga and Dj Mandindo met on Facebook where we used to communicate as well. Dj Mandindo started to send us his beats in exchange of income in the year 2008,” says Dj Glob. Dacliva, Maria, Deonte, Jaw-Dy are featuring on the album while Lil-Nex dominated the album with more than seven songs that he featured on the album.

“On this album, people can see the difference. We went extra miles producing it and we decided even to change our sound, to sound more different from other Djs. The album also shows our maturity in the industry. It sounds more Namibian with a great flavour of strictly House Music,” He says.

The album was produced under the Starlite Entertainment label, a Rundu-based  recording company. This year the duo will release two music videos of Tukine featuring Lil-Nex and Summer Time. “Tukine means let’s dance, a party house song. While Summer Time, featuring Deonte, is a song dedicated to the festive season, explaining how people can enjoy their December,” says Dj Glob.

The album is now available in Windhoek at Antonios’s Art, Rundu Open Market and in Rosphina.
