WINDHOEK – Andrew Goagoseb, 27, was stabbed to death with a knife on Saturday at the Central Shops in Katutura. He was declared dead on arrival at hospital.

A 21-year-old man was arrested and was expected to appear in court yesterday, the head of the police public relations division, Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi, informed a media briefing on Sunday.

The deputy commissioner also said on Friday at around 3am in Okahandja Park, a 36-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her husband.

A case of rape was opened, and once the investigation is complete, a docket will be referred to the prosecutor general for a decision whether to prosecute.

On Saturday at approximately 11am in Otjimbundu village in the Kunene Region two boys, Noah Ndjawombe, 10, and Papi Kawithiwa Lundjinda, 7, died after they unwittingly played with an explosive.

The two boys were playing with the unexploded ordnance, which they found in the bush. It exploded killing both of them instantly, Kanguatjivi said.

The device was identified as a M-59 rocket.

The two boys allegedly left their home to look after their family’s goats at around 1100, whereafter the community heard a thunderous explosion and went to investigate, only to find the two boys lying dead in a pool of blood.
