MTC to launch iPhone 5C and 5S

Home Featured MTC to launch iPhone 5C and 5S

WINDHOEK – MTC yesterday became the first operator in Namibia to launch the iPhone 5S and 5C.
The iPhone 5S is Apple’s flagship smartphone and is precisely crafted down to the micron and has a beautiful aluminium casing that will be available in three colours, namely space grey, silver and gold. Some of the new features of this new Apple iPhone 5S include a Touch ID, which is a fingerprint identity sensor in the home button that allows for more security with the phone. The new iPhone also has a new A7 chip, making the iPhone 5S the first 64-bit smartphone in the world and allowing for CPU (central processing unit) and graphics performance to be up to two times faster than its predecessor.

Alongside the launch of the iPhone 5S, MTC also introduced the iPhone 5C. This iPhone is similar in features to the iPhone 5 launched last year with a A6 chip, improved iSight camera; ultra-fast LTE wireless, and more colour options as this device comes in five different colours (white, pink, yellow, blue and green). The new iPhone will be available at a reduced upfront payment for customers that sign up or renew their SmartPhone and SmartShare contracts from November 18, 2013 until January 31, 2014. Standard buy-out terms and conditions apply. Customers need to sign-up or renew their current contract in order to receive the special pricing.

“Being the first Namibian operator to launch the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, is a way of MTC showing its commitment to its customers, stressing once more that MTC is a customer-centric company, focused on providing the best services and devices to its customers,” said Tim Ekandjo, MTC’s Chief Human Capital and Corporate Affairs Officer.

Ekandjo added that the company expects the demand for this device to be high, in line with the previous launches, as Namibians are becoming more and more technologically aware and are becoming heavy data users, with data usage peaking, having the same trend as the most developed countries and showing that Namibians want to have access to information anywhere at any time using the most modern, technologically advanced devices found on the market.
