ONGWEDIVA – MTC’s Chief Human Capital and Corporate Affairs Manager, Tim Ekandjo, has lauded the efforts of the Ongwediva Town Council in realising “an astonishing annual trade fair which attracted a multitude of Namibians from across all sectors”.
“The organizers of the Ongwediva Trade Fair have created this magnificent marketing platform for Namibia and through this fair the economic benefits go back to all corners of our country, thanks to the diversity of exhibitors, which makes this a truly Namibian experience,” Ekandjo said during the official opening of the 14th edition of the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF). The official opening saw various dignitaries, including President Hifikepunye Pohamba, MPs, leaders of the business community, traditional elders, and kings and queens attending.
The President was the keynote speaker at the fair.
Ekandjo added that the main sponsors of the Ongwediva Trade Fair are the Namibian people, and not MTC. “MTC simply represents the Namibian people and we are therefore very proud to partner with excellence and success once again.”
MTC has been the main sponsor of the OATF for the last fourteen years. Amongst other shows that also received financial assistance from MTC are the Zambezi Bream Festival, Eenhana Trade Fair, Gobabis Show, Omaheke Trade Fair, Okakarara Trade Fair, Luderitz Crayfish Festival, Otjiwarongo Show, Keetmanshoop Show, Oranjemund Diamond Festival, Tsumeb Copper Festival and the Rehoboth Show. MTC spends close to N$1. 5 million annually in supporting various shows, trade exhibition and fairs.
