Afrocats slay Tigers in the MTC NNPL

Afrocat Lions redeemed themselves over the weekend after last week’s defeat when they overcame Tigers by a narrow 30-32 scoreline to collect maximum points on the road.

Speaking to this publication yesterday, Dimitri Bittler said it was quite a challenging encounter as Tigers gave them a run for their money.

“It was a very tight contest between the two teams, but luckily we came out victorious. We went into this match looking for maximum points, and the team delivered. We also know that the league is approaching its end, and losing a point isn’t that wise for every team,” he said.

Heading forward, Bittler said, “It’s a good thing that we beat Tigers and we will end the season ahead of them, whether we win or lose our last match. It’s not what we wanted for the season, but keeping our spot in the league is very crucial. I am happy with the team. We made mistakes this season, but it’s a good thing that we also learned from those mistakes as well.”

In other results over the weekend, Namibia Correctional Services (NCS) who are the inaugural champions, beat newly promoted Wanderers 42-33, while the Tigers also lost their first match against NCS by 38-33.
