2006-12-01Staff Report 2 "By Michael Liswaniso OPUWO - Today is World AIDS Day, and all roads will be leading to this region's capital of Kunene when the town officially hosts and celebrates this historic national day at this score for the first time. The day's international theme is: ""Stop AIDS - Keep the Promise"", while our national theme is: ""Zero Tolerance of HIV Infections among the Youth"". A chain of cultural performances will feature among other prominent entertainment activities laced with different sporting codes tournaments, among them football and netball. President Hifikepunye Pohamba is expected to deliver the keynote address. He will be accompanied by the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, and the Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr Richard Kamwi, among other prominent figures. Some residents of the region who are living positive lives with HIV are expected to publicly reveal their status and deliver courageous remarks. World AIDS Day today marks its 18th anniversary.
