Everything is in place for the Spar Women’s 10km Challenge tomorrow morning, says organiser Berthold Karumendu. 

The race, which is in its second edition, will start and end at Wanderers Sports Grounds in Windhoek.

“Planning went well, and the runners should collect their numbers and race bags today,” said Karumendu.

Last year’s winner Alina Armas will defend her title and is sure to get stiff competition from veteran runners Helalia Johannes and Lavinia Haitope.

First-place prize is set at N$10 000, second place is N$7 500, with the third-place winner waiting to bag N$5 000. 

Prize money of N$3 000 is allocated for each winner in the age groups: 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 to 69, with N$2 000 for second place and N$1 500 for third place in each category respectively.
