At home with Uejaa Kazondunge - Becoming my ancestors’ wildest dreams

A trailblazer is defined as a go-getter, creator, and trendsetter. If this notion holds, then the woman dubbed “media guru” definitely fits the bill.
Uejaa Kazondunge has been making waves in the media industry, with over 20 years of experience as a radio and TV presenter, events host, and MC and her prolific career and growing empire have made her a force to be reckoned with in the media and entertainment industry and across other sectors.

“I am here on purpose and everything that has been granted by God is to impact/inspire someone out there even if it’s just one person,” she uttered.
Despite being in the public eye, here are some things you might not have known about the glamorous media personality.

Early life
Born and bred in Windhoek and raised by a single mom in the dusty streets of Katutura’s Groot Winkels (Big Shops), the 37-year-old says her mother has been her greatest motivator.
“She would get up every morning to go to work to ensure we had everything we needed,” she praised the birth giver.
Becoming who she is, Kazondunge said she always aspired to be on radio one day.
“I used to listen to the radio a lot growing up and I just fell in love with it; I found the medium to be a powerful way to reach people from all corners of the country. The stage presenting, voice artist work, and the corporate world came about from really showing up for myself, working long hours knowing that I’m here on purpose and everything that has been granted by God is to impact/inspire someone out there even if it’s just one person.”

Qualifications
Kazondunge holds a bachelor degree in journalism and communication technology and a bachelor of communications honours and currently works as Head Operations at Tusk Mobile and Electronics at Shipanga Holdings.

Family
They say family is everything, when everyone else fails us, we turn to our families.
Despite her busy and demanding life, Kazondunge cherishes the time she spends with her family.
“Family is very, very important to me, it is because of them that I am, we are a close-knit family. They are more than good,” she stated, adding that after a long exhausting day, the first thing she would want to see is her family.
Although Kazondunge hasn't started a family of her own yet, she hopes to be a great mother one day.

Little UNknown factor
If there is one thing people do not know about Kazondunge, she said it would be that she is single, educated, hydrated, self-loving, and becoming her ancestors’ wildest dreams.

Lifestyle
Kazondunge starts her day with a little prayer, followed by a 30 minutes workout before she leaves for her office.
After work, the fitness fanatic would dedicate her time for a boot camp workout (four days in a week), get home at around 19h30, have dinner with family, or meetings with clients if there are any, on brand Uejaa, some TV time, or a book.
“Working out has been the greatest de-stress for me, the best investment I have made for myself is putting myself first to enable me to take care of others. I cannot pour from an empty cup,” she mentioned.
Talking about her favourite meal, Kozondunge munches on pasta most days and her go-to is “Creamy chicken mushroom pasta”.

“Yes, I can make that pasta dish and many more and also bake things like bread, muffins. I love experimenting in the kitchen, it’s therapeutic,” she said candidly, adding that her favourite hangout spot is Olivia’s Kitchen.
“Their food, the service, and the ambience are excellent.”
Kazondunge also likes her tea with lemon, or ginger tea with honey or maybe indulge in some natural sweet wine.

Blunders
Asked about her biggest blunder while presenting or at an MC gig, Kozondunge said, “I got the title of the person correct but the name of the person was not updated on the program, I had the wrong name.”

Inspirations
The best three qualities of a presenter/MC are preparation, passion, and commitment.
“Choose a path you are passionate about, remember that at the end of the day it’s not about you but the impact. Stop limiting yourself according to the world standards while we serve a limitless God,” she concluded.
