"By Carlos Kambaekwa WINDHOEK It will be blood, sweat and tears when the country's top amateur boxers, climb in the ring to trade blows in this year's opening ""Boxing Bonanza"" at the A Shipena School Hall, in Soweto near Katutura, this weekend. The Golden Boxing Club - an affiliate of the Khomas Amateur Boxing Sub Federation will be hosting the first boxing developmental tournament in the Khomas region this year. The two-day tourney will commence tomorrow and the first bout is pencilled in for 19h00, while the boxers will go for an early break the next day as the fights are scheduled to get underway at 17h00. According to a press release from the Khomas region - the tournament will be used as yardstick to prepare local boxers for the forthcoming Zone Six Championship in South Africa, next month. The region is also on a mission to stage as many fights in an effort to popularise boxing among people from all walks of life in the Khomas communities. Several clubs from the Khomas region and the Arandis Boxing Club have confirmed their participation in this weekend's boxing tournament which is expected to attract the country's leading boxers such as Namibia's bronze medalist at last year's All Africa Games in Algeria, Johannes ""Baluka"" Simon, Anthony Jarman, Josef Titus, Sam Fanuel, Eric Kalenga and Ananias ""Miquito"" Shikalepo among a horde of talented boxers.
