Businesses urged to invest in Tsandi

The chairperson of the Tsandi Village Council is inviting investors to take advantage of the available land and business opportunities in the town.

During an interview with Nampa on Sunday at the Tsandi Annual Trade Fair and Expo, Selma Kadhila spoke of the challenges faced by the town due to the unavailability of essential services such as civil registration services, commercial banks, private healthcare services, and guesthouses.

“I encourage investors and those with funds to take advantage of the available land and provide services that are currently lacking in town,” Kadhila stated.

She mentioned that investors interested in building shopping complexes would be welcomed in Tsandi as only three shops are currently available.

Kadhila stated that there are over 8 000 residents living in and around the town.

“We have customers from Ruacana and Omakange, but there are only ATMs available,” she noted.

The chairperson approached the Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) and First National Bank (FNB) for assistance to fund the development of eight extensions earmarked for residential purposes.

According to her, the town council received N$500 000 for capital projects in 2023/2024, which is not sufficient.

“We have more than 500 individuals who have indicated an interest in buying the plots,” she stated.

Kadhila mentioned that this year’s trade fair and expo attracted around 80 exhibitors, marking the event’s first occurrence since 2019 when Covid-19 halted it for two years.

Prior to that, the event used to attract over 100 exhibitors from all over the country.

Kadhila also said the trade fair is ideal for families and investors.

“We offer fun activities for young children, including swimming pools and a jumping castle. In the evening, we have a music show featuring popular artists like Killer Stars, Tate Buti, Bullet ya Kaoko, D-Fresh, and Kind J, among others,” Kadhila mentioned.

The expo started on 28 October and ends on Saturday.

She encouraged the public to show up in large numbers to support the event. Doors are open from 10h00 until midnight. -Nampa
