The defending champions took the lead 5 minutes after the break through enterprising winger Eslin ""Lovers"" Kamuhanga. The goal was the purple-haired youngster's second after he netted the only goal of the match in the Civilians' drawn match against African Stars, last Sunday. The hosts equalized in the 71st minute through midfielder Sageus Narimab, and the match looked destined for a stalemate until discarded Brave Warriors defender Franklin April popped up to rattle home the decisive goal with 10 minutes left on the clock. The tough as steak defender latched onto a loose ball after the usually reliable Gunners goalkeeper, Edwin Narib, spilled a harmless looking shot from Victor Helu.
