2013-12-09Mathias Haufiku RUNDU - A 16-year-old boy’s life was abruptly cut short last Thursday when a bolt of lightning struck and killed him while he was riding a donkey at Sikarasompo village. The incident took place in Kavango West. Erastus Hamutenya died on the spot after he was struck by lightning at around 17h00. His next of kin was informed. Meanwhile in a similar incident last Wednesday three people lost their lives when the hut they were sleeping in caught fire after it was struck by lightning at around 18h00. The police say the bodies of the victims were burned beyond recognition. The deceased were identified as Canca Kampanza, 46, Dana Kampanza, 38, and Katiti Ncame, 23. The incident occurred at farm Kulimina at Karukuvisa village. Their next of kin were informed.
