Exciting matches in the WSL…as Ongos takes on Ongwediva Queens

Defending champions, Ongos Ladies FC will be tested this weekend in their quest to retain the title when they square off against Ongwediva Queens at Uukwangula Stadium in the northern part of the country.

Action in the women’s topflight league will commence today with a tie between Ramblers and V-Power Angels to be played at the NFA technical centre at 19h00. Tomorrow, action will continue with the defending champions, Ongos Ladies travelling to the far northern part of the country to face Ongwediva Queens at around 14h00.

Arrows Ladies will then take on Girls and Goals at the NFA technical centre at 11h00, while NUST Babes will take on Unam Bokkies as the students battle it out for maximum points around 19h00. Khomas Nampol will take on Okahandja at NFA centre at 17h00 before Beauties will square it off against Namib Daughters.

Speaking to this publication, Ongos Ladies head coach Shama Gure said that tomorrow’s tie would be a tough one, given the fact that they are playing away from home. He however said as the champions, they must be ready for everything that comes their way.

“It will be quite a challenge this coming weekend, we know how difficult the team we are playing against is, and it won’t be an easy game because we are playing away from home. But on our side, we have done our homework, prepared enough and I believe we as a team, will take this challenge on as any other match in the league and I believe in my charges that we can get the job done,” he said.

On Sunday, games will continue as Ongwediva Queens take on V-Power Angels at 12h00 while NUST Babes will square it off against Girls and Goals at 18h00. Khomas Nampol will take on Namib Daughters and the last match on the day will be a tie between Beauties and Okahandja. Arrows Ladies will then take on Unam Bokkies at16h00.
