Homeless man stabbed to death

WALVIS BAY – A homeless man was allegedly stabbed to death by a 20-year-old suspect on Sunday evening at Walvis Bay.
The incident happened close to an abandoned house in Theo-Ben Gurirab Street in town around 21h50, where the victim lived with several other homeless people at the town.

According to the crime investigations coordinator for Erongo, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu, the victim was identified as 35-year-old Brendon Samuel Losper.

He was reportedly stabbed in his upper chest with a sharp object, causing a deep open wound.
“Losper, after being stabbed, allegedly ran and collapsed inside the house. Those who lived in the abandoned house with him then called emergency services, whereby he was transported to the Walvis Bay state hospital,” Iikuyu said.
The victim was pronounced dead on arrival at the state hospital.

The suspect was arrested yesterday afternoon after he handed himself over to the police.
He is expected to make his first appearance in the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court today on a charge of murder.
Iikuyu yesterday also indicated the motive of the murder is not yet known at this stage and that the police is investigating the murder.
