Namibian Hip-Hop legend Jericho, has confirmed to The Namibian that he is back with a bang to reclaim his spot in the local music industry. The musician had a rocky start in 2020 after it was reported that he allegedly robbed a Namibia Defence member at Karibib.

At the time, the rapper denied robbing and assaulting the victim and said his name would be cleared after he gave his side of the story, lucky for him the charges were dropped.

After going quiet for some time, he released a new album and he is set to bless fans with two music videos soon. According to the publication, next week, the rapper will drop a music video for a song titled Shibobos. The second one is for a song titled Recovery featuring Ghost.

The musician recently dropped an album titled Recovery and it was inspired by some of the predicaments he has experienced in life. He told the publication that he was depressed and he was on the brink of giving up, “I was going through many things in life, from stress to depression and many others. I was about to give up but had to make a comeback due to fans demanding more of my music, and they wanted me to revive the hip-hop industry,” says the musician.

The album infuses some gospel and hip-hop songs and it also addresses the global pandemic of gender-based-violence, “On this album, I am spreading love and hope. I am also talking about how we can get rid of gender-based-violence in our country. On a few songs, I sing about the victims that lost their lives due to GBV.”

He told the publication that he is now born again. Another musician who recently announced that he will be dropping a gender-based violence awareness song is Sunny Boy.

The song features Staxx Major and many are already looking forward to its release date. Sunny Boy shared a snippet of the incomplete track and said, “It’s hard fighting violence towards women if only a few stand united. It is even harder doing it alone. But what’s worse is being completely silent. So, this is ME! what are YOU doing about it?? (New song dropping soonest, don’t judge it’s still rough,” shared Sunny Boy.
