KFA, SKW’s fine form continues in HopSol U/17

Kaizen Football Academy (KFA) made light work by beating visiting St. Joseph’s RC High School Döbra 3-0 recently in the U17 MTC HopSol Youth Group A encounter at the Jan Möhr Football Field.

Robinho van Wyk and Paulus Manasse got on the scoresheet for KFA, while St. Joseph’s Alfredt Hanabeb scored an own goal.

The visiting side’s coach, Henry Namulele, said the scoreline was unexpected, as they are not used to receiving a beating with such a score.

“The boys played well, but our opponents were too good. We need to improve our defence. We need to regroup, but they did their best,” he explained.

KFA’s mentor coach James Britz said he was impressed with his boys performance as they had a good tactical game.

“They did what we asked them to do and pulled off a mature performance. We took advantage of the fact that they did not warm up,” Britz said.

Elsewhere, Kasaona Football Academy went down to SKW 1–0 in the U17 Group B encounter at the Jan Möhr Football Field.

Vijakura Tjengaete, the assistant coach of Kasaona, said her side was a bit unlucky and felt that the boys performed exceptionally well.

“I think my boys lost focus, especially in the first few minutes of the game, but to be honest, SKW is a very good side to play against. They scored from a set piece, and that’s where they are dangerous,” she said.

SKW’s coach Brighton Ziyakatira felt it was a deserved victory, as they were on the front foot in the first half and had the bulk of chances in the first half.

“If our conversion rate was a little bit better, we could have won by more goals. Our goal came in the second half, and I feel the victory is thoroughly deserved,” he said.

He said they told the boys to keep pressing and improve on their combination play while being patient.
