League title still main objective, says Jacobs
"Windhoek Despite having experienced a few setbacks along the way, Black Africa mentor Woody Jacobs believes they are still worthy challengers and stand a good chance of winning the MTC Premier League title. Placed second on the league log standings with 48 points – 12 points adrift of log leaders Tigers who top the log with 60 points – Black Africa are faced with a herculean task of collecting maximum points against unpredictable and equally dangerous Orlando Pirates on Sunday and Civics tomorrow in the capital at the Sam Nujoma Stadium. ""It will not be an easy weekend for us as we are faced with two tricky teams that are capable of anything, so we will be well prepared and remain vigilant for the task at hand. Our ultimate goal is still to win the league title and I strongly believe we stand a great chance to catch up with Tigers. They (Tigers) dropped points last weekend, so this weekend will be the perfect opportunity for us to close the gap at the top,"" said Jacobs. ""I have full confidence in my boys and trust they’ll rise to the occasion when we face Civics and Pirates tomorrow and on Sunday. Our record with Civics is not so good as they always give us a bit of problems whenever we meet, while any match between Black Africa and Pirates is always a certified derby, so it won't be an easy assignment for us this weekend."" On the bright side, Jacobs said he boasts a clean injury sheet that will enable him to rotate his squad and accordingly respond to the demands of the situation in both matches.   Weekend FixturesSaturday, 9 April Black Africa vs Civics (Sam Nujoma Stadium at 15h00) Flamingoes vs Orlando Pirates (Reho Stadium at 15h00) Rundu Chiefs vs Blue Waters (Rundu Sport Stadium at 15h00) Young Chiefs vs Eleven Arrows (Uukwangula Stadium at 15h00)   Sunday, 10 April Black Africa vs Orlando Pirates (Sam Nujoma Stadium at 15h00) Flamingoes vs Civics (Reho Stadium at 15h00) Rundu Chiefs vs Eleven Arrows (Rundu Sport Stadium at 13h00) Young Chiefs vs Blue Waters (Uukwangula Stadium at 13h00)    "
