Let’s all support the President
The leadership and management of the Windhoek Islamic Centre is highly impressed and encouraged by the powerful, well-crafted and important speech of the President of Namibia, Dr Hage Geingob. We are particularly happy with the President’s stance on poverty eradication, land issue, social equity, his noble ideology of inclusivity, his exemplary stance and leadership on transparency, anti-corruption, his message of peace and great emphasis on the rule of law. This perfectly builds on the very strong foundation laid by the previous presidents of Namibia, the Founding Father, Dr Sam Nujoma and Former President Dr Hifikepunye Pohamba. We would like to urge the nation to support the President on the issues touched on in his State of the Nation Address. In the same vein, we would also like to appeal to the entire Muslim community of Namibia in general, and the Muslim businessmen and women in particular, to meet the President and government half way in terms of substantive economic empowerment and employment creation. Islam teaches us to support good causes and social justice in society. As such, we would like to give our sincere support to the Namibian government in its strategies towards nation building and national development as envisaged in Vision 2030 and other national plans documents. We pray for the success of the Namibian nation and the government of Dr Hage Geingob in the fight against poverty, ignorance and other social evils. We are hoping to meet the President to personally deliver our support and appreciation of his moral and political leadership, God willing. We would also like to heartily congratulate the SWAPO Party for giving Namibia the best of the best leadership for this country. We wish the nation harmony, love, stability and prosperity, with God’s blessings. Wa Salaam to all. Armas Shikongo Windhoek
