Miss African Golden Namibia reflects on year of triumph

In a reflection on the year 2023, Miss Africa Golden Namibia Loini Jonas expressed immense pride and gratitude for the significant moments that defined her journey in 2023.

In an interview with VIBEZ!, Jonas also shares her insights and aspirations for the upcoming year - from winning the title in July last year to overcoming challenges and gaining valuable experience.

She highlighted her participation in a beauty contest and academic success, specifically passing her first year at the University of Namibia as a political science student. Furthermore, her involvement in an activist winter school solidified her commitment to meaningful causes, earning her the title of an official activist.

“If there was one challenge I faced in 2023, it was time management, as I was always so preoccupied. In a quest to overcome this, I planned out my days by setting up timetables for myself. I had to also work on my sleeping schedule (go to bed early, wake up early). I learned that persistence and consistency are always key. Do things on time, or whenever you plan to do them to avoid being overwhelmed,” Jonas advised.

The past year brought her exciting opportunities in fashion modelling. Coupled with her win as Miss African Golden Namibia, Jonas is inspired to pursue the Miss Namibia title in 2024 or 2025.

Reflecting on the highs and lows, she acknowledged the essential role setbacks play in personal growth, while expressing gratitude for the experiences that shaped her, paving the way for her goals in 2024. Passionate about public speaking and the arts, this year Jonas plans to explore these avenues further.

“My goal this year is to stick to the plan, and stand on business all-year-long. Some of my specific goals are to maintain my school marks, and go even harder this year.

My Instagram audience has been urging me to do a closet sale, and I plan on opening an online platform where people can purchase items, worn and some brand new. I will be announcing it soon. The page is @trayskloset on Instagram. I chose Closet with a “k” as it appears more unique.

I will also be grabbing all job opportunities this year, so I look forward to working with photographers and designers around Namibia,” she said excitedly.
