Musambani signs 2-year deal with Gaborone United... more local transfer rumours
2015-07-10Staff Report 2 "Windhoek Brave Warriors’ industrious striker, Nicky Musambani, has reportedly signed a two-year contract with Botswana premiership giants, Gaborone United, after his contract with Orlando Pirates expired in May. Musambani, who won the Namibia Premier League (NPL) Golden Boot award for the 2014/15 season, was a true pillar of strength for the Buccaneers and even helped the team book a place in the final of the 3rd edition of the Bidvest Cup, which was won by Tigers. His inspiring exploits on the pitch earned him a call-up to the national team, where he went on to represent the country at this year’s Cosafa Cup and in other friendly matches. In other local news, Orlando Pirates stocky midfield maestro, Image Isaack, was in recent weeks rumoured to have parted ways with the club and is in search of greener pastures after his contract ended last month, but Pirates Team Manager, Afrikan Araseb, shot down the rumours yesterday and insisted Isaack is still contracted to the club and remains one of their players. Word on the street also has it that relegated Touch & Go striker, Romaria Maans, could be on his way to join Namibia’s reigning champions, African Stars. The 21-year old is also said to have been training with the Katutura giants and could join the club come next season. African Stars supporters are still waiting with baited breath for the club to renew the contracts of enterprising winger, Eslin ‘Lovers’ Kamuhanga and Meraai Swartbooi. Okeri Maekopo is also said to have finally completed his long-awaited move from African Stars to Tura Magic. Meanwhile, speculation is rife in local football corridors that sacked Tigers mentor, Bobby Samaria could be the man to replace Ronnie Kanalelo at Black Africa, while Kanalelo is linked with a possible move to UNAM FC, who are still without a coach.
