“My Republik Brand” launches “ Effortlessly Yours” collections
Windhoek Despite the first ever fruitful launch of My Republik Brand held at the Maerua Mall Rooftop Parking’s on Friday night, the brand also launched its new collections,  Effortlessly Yours, which they say will bring a radically different culture to the brand. Up to 32 gleaming, shining and stylish garments of the new range, “Effortlessly Yours” were showcased by well trained models. The collections are for both men and women. Designer of My Republik Brand, Twapewa Amutenya, says “Effortlessly Yours” is derived from the main purpose of their designs, which is to create stylish clothing that is effortless. “You don’t need to put in too much effort to look great. Our garments are smart casual and designed and manufactured for the professionals who wants to look smart, stylish and elegant all at the same time,” says Amutenya. She adda that to make the garments more quantitative, for the ladies’ garments, they used fabrics such as 100 % cottons for shirts, cotton twills, jersey knits and rayons to compile the looks, with the fabrics mainly sourced from South Africa (Johannesburg and Cape Town). Amutenya says the launch of their brand and collection could inspire other designers to create their own clothing brands and enter the retail industry in Namibia while creating job opportunities and flourishing in the retail and manufacturing industry. “The theme of our event was ‘Nothing is impossible’, our aim at Leap of Namibia is to inspire and show every citizen that anything they set their mind is possible,” she says. However, My Republik Brand is Namibia’s first locally designed, manufactured and retailed commercial clothes. The store is situated in the Grove Mall at the Kleine Kuppe district and opened their stores to the public last August, with the launch last Friday night. According to the My Republik Brand Manager, Victoria Ashipala, the purpose of the event was to officially launch the brand and celebrate the milestones reached as a brand, including the new range of “Effortlessly Yours” collections.
