NaTIS Walvis suspends learner licence bookings

WALVIS BAY – The Roads Authority (RA) has temporarily suspended all learner licence bookings at the Walvis Bay NaTIS centre as from Tuesday until 8 October.

The RA indicated in a statement on Wednesday that they are dealing with a huge backlog of learner licence bookings, and thus want to attend to them before accepting any new bookings. According to RA spokesperson Hileni Fillemon, applications received by the centre via the drop box for learner licence testing before the suspension period will still be processed.

“Those applicants will receive their testing timeslots via the RA SMS line 2000. The centre will also continue to conduct learner licence testing sessions with applicants who have prior confirmed bookings during the above-mentioned period,” she explained. Fillemon added that applicants should try and arrive only 10 to 15 minutes prior to their scheduled testing timeslots to avoid congestion, and should make sure that they wear facemasks as well as adhere to the Covid-19 precautionary measures.

This suspension is only applicable to the Walvis Bay Natis centre as learner licence bookings will still be accepted at all relevant centres countrywide.
