2016-07-01Staff Report 2 Weekend news at last… In the quest to fill the ‘news blackout’ that Namibia experiences every weekend, due to the absence of weekend news publications in the country, New Era Publication Corporation (NEPC) will as of tomorrow (Saturday) publish a weekend newspaper, called New Era Weekend. The new newspaper aims at bringing you exclusive content that is a pleasure and easy to read, with depth and analysis. As per its slogan of ‘Read. Reflect. Relax’, New Era Weekend will present readers with a news buffet that will truly give reading pleasure to the whole family. It will be packed with stories that tell the ‘story behind the story’, presenting an array of in-depth and analytical content to distinguish itself from the daily version of New Era. The paper will also have a strong entertainment section for younger people. Although New Era Weekend will come out every Saturday it will be on the shelves for a week. Indeed, it is a newspaper that could be read throughout the entire week – and for those who might have failed to acquire a copy ‘on time’, the stories will still be relevant, that is until the new edition hits the shelves the following week. It is New Era Publication Corporation (NEPC)’s third newspaper after New Era and Kundana and is part of the drive to keep Namibia more informed as per the mandate handed to the Corporation by its founding Act of parliament.
