Ombili man caught in bed with minor

A seven-year-old girl was reportedly raped by a neighbour in Windhoek’s Ombili. The suspect is a 42-year-old man.  

The incident occurred on Friday at about 20h00 at Ombili. 

The suspect was found in bed with the victim and was arrested; he will appear at the Katutura Magistrate’s Court this week. 

In another alleged rape incident, an expectant 23-year-old mother was reportedly raped by an unknown man at her home at Goreangab in Katutura. 

According to the police weekend crime report, the incident occurred on Friday at around 03h00 when two suspects, armed with knives, entered the victim’s house.

 According to the police, one of the suspects raped the victim. 

“The suspects also took the victim’s cell phone and N$640 in cash. A sister to the victim was also in the house at the time of the incident, but she was not raped or robbed,” said the report. 

In another incident on Saturday at Rooi-Rand location, Groot Aub, between 20h00 and 21h00, a 26-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly raped his 14-year-old sister.  

Meanwhile, the police are also investigating the cases of attempted murder that occurred on Friday at about 22h00 at Onkaanka village, Otamanzi constituency, in the Omusati region. It is alleged the suspect stabbed the victim on the left lower abdomen, left arm and chest with a knife. 

The victim, a 28-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was admitted to the Oshakati state hospital in a stable condition. 

The suspect is known to the victim but not yet arrested, as he fled the area after the incident.  

In an unrelated matter, the police reported that a 32-year-old man was hacked with a panga on the forehead, middle right finger and the left side of the waist. 

The incident occurred on Saturday at around 22h00 at the Epalela location, Onesi constituency, in Omusati. 

The suspect is not yet arrested and police investigations continue.
