Omukwaniilwa of Ondonga Fillemon Shuumbwa Nangolo held a meeting with stakeholders from the three regions within the jurisdiction of the Ondonga Traditional Authority: Oshana, Oshikoto and Ohangwena.

He urged all those involved in the development to work together, foster effective communication and deliver services for the benefit of the people of Ondonga and the nation at large.

Connection and communication among different offices are needed for effective service delivery, rather than working in isolation, which will lead to wastage of resources, as duplication of projects or services can be allocated to one place due to lack of communication among offices.

“We must work together because if we are separated, we cannot bring anything to the table,” said Nangolo.

Shuumbwa also thanked the authorities for curbing stock theft within the boundaries of Ondonga Traditional Authority, adding that stock theft decreased due to the mechanisms put in place.

He also thanked Nampol Oshikoto for a drastic decline in crime reports from the region and urged them to share their best practice tactics with fellow policemen and women in Oshana and Ohangwena regions.

On his part, the chairperson and spokesperson of the Ondonga Traditional Authority, Frans Enkali, encouraged Namibians to respect one another, be united as a nation and work together for development.

If Namibians do not foster unity and solidarity as well as mutual respect, then nation-building will be impossible. Consequently, they will keep relying on other countries, said Enkali.

Nangolo wished everyone a productive new year and a year of dedication to bring services and development closer to the people.

He also called on all those involved in the development of the nation across all the sectors to come forth to ensure people have access to all human basic needs and services.
