The Southern African Tour of the German-Zimbabwean music project, ‘Project Meets Mbira’ with German native Andreas Kern and acclaimed Princess of Mbira Hope Masike hailing from Zimbabwe, started taking place from 24 November to 11 December 2023.

The duo will grace the NPS Auditorium in the coastal town of Swakopmund on 11 December where the two will join forces and deliver yet another delectable performance at 19h00.

Here, interested folks can gain free entry to the performance they have lined up. 

Clarrisa Judmann from the German Embassy expressed the embassy’s immense gratitude and excitement for the upcoming performance.

 “We are very happy that Hope and Andreas decided to participate here in Namibia, seeing that they have travelled through several Southern African countries, it truly does make us excited for this venture.” 

This intercultural project fuse German classical music with that of the mbira instrumentS native to the Shona people of Zimbabwe to bring forth a mixture of classics and modern Afro-pop. 

The duo remains ecstatic to showcase their talents as they highlight their journey on social media platforms.

 Judmann notes this performance is not one to miss.

 “It is the first time that the duo will be performing in Namibia and it is their only public performance,” she said.
