Prime Minister to open 12th IPM conference

The 12th Institute of People Management Conference is scheduled to take place from the 26 to 27 October at Safari Hotel.

This year’s conference will take place under the theme ‘Preparing HR for the 4th Industrial Revolution’.

IPM founder and president Tim Ekandjo has confirmed that Prime Minister, Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, will officially open this year’s conference.

The two-day conference will see the welcome return of the Exhibitors Hall, allowing like-minded companies to exhibit and market their products and services.

This year’s two-day conference will see 11 most sought-after speakers engage delegates on a range of topical issues.

Tassius Chigariro (Group CEO of Old Mutual Namibia) will unpack the 4th Industrial Revolution, while Vodacom South Africa’s chief human resources officer Matimba Mbungela will engage delegates on HR Digital transformation.

Delegates will also be updated on the progress of the National HR Plan by the Deputy Chief National Development Advisor from the National Planning Commission, while the Ministry of Public Enterprises will speak about the productivity vs wage bill and performance in the public sector, which will make for an interesting topic.

Other topics will focus on leadership, people and innovation, unemployment, talent management, data privacy and an interesting panel discussion on Chinese employers and Namibian labour law that is not to be missed.

The conference is scheduled to end with its traditional IPM Excellence Gala Dinner, which will take place at Palm Hotel on 27 October to recognise and celebrate HR professionals in seven different categories, including the CEO/MD of the Year Award.

Delegate fees to the conference are N$5 500 and N$7 500 for exhibitors.

“We are extremely delighted to welcome all Namibian leaders to this year’s IPM Conference. Our invitation is not limited to HR professionals anymore but to all those in leadership positions or who aspire to become future leaders,” said Ekandjo
