A 27-year-old man has appeared in the Ondangwa Magistrate’s Court for the alleged rape of a 15-year-old girl.
The incident reportedly happened while the girl was on her way to school last week Friday at around 07h00 at Okiimbi village outside Ondangwa.
According to the police, it is alleged the well-known suspect found minors walking to school and called one pretending to have fish for a staff member at the school where the children are enrolled.
The suspect allegedly grabbed the victim and pulled her inside his sleeping room where he raped her.
“The suspect pushed her on the bed and removed both his clothes and that of the victim and had sexual intercourse with the minor while threatening her not to scream nor to report the matter to the police or else she risks being beaten up,” read the crime report.
In another rape matter, a 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 35-year-old man on Saturday at Onkumbula in the Oshikoto region.
It is alleged that the suspect entered the room of the victim and had sexual intercourse with her under coercive circumstances.
“The victim managed to report the matter to her aunt on the same day and the police were notified. The suspect was arrested but not yet charged,” stated the police.
At Outjo, an 18-year-old male was arrested for the alleged rape of a 12-year-old girl last Saturday.
The rape incident occurred at about 19h00.
According to the police, the minor went to buy ice at the house of the suspect before the alleged sexual assault.
“The victim further alleged that the suspect pulled off her clothes and had sexual intercourse with her while they were seated. The victim and the suspect were taken to the hospital for medical examination,” said Shikwambi.
