2013-10-18Staff Report 2 WINDHOEK - One of the top golf events on the local sports calendar, the Remax Windhoek Open Strokeplay Championship tees off at the Windhoek Golf and Country club tomorrow. Remax Namibia is sponsoring the competition for the 2nd consecutive year, with an undisclosed amount, while each participant will receive a gift package at registration. The field will be quite open with defending champions Werner Lassen and Letitia Brink notable absentees as a result of other commitments. Going into the greens, favorite golfers to be crowned Remax Windhoek Open Champions are doubtlessly the pair of Graeme Fransman and Heidi van Niekerk. The 36-hole tourney for the A and B divisions and 18 holes for the C and Ladies divisions tee off at 07h00 tomorrow morning with the prize giving ceremony slated for 19h00 in the afternoon.
