2006-04-28Staff Report 2 "By Kuvee Kangueehi WINDHOEK All roads will be leading to Oshakati this weekend where eight of the countries top class sides will fight it out for a place in the semi-final of the lucrative MTC NFA Cup. Two sides which find themselves at the bottom of the MTC Namibia Premier League are Cymot SKW and KM Eleven Arrows and will take each other on in the first match tomorrow at the Independence Stadium in Oshakati. The match will be followed by home side Oshakati City taking on coastal giants Blue Waters. On Sunday afternoon the match which could be billed the match of the weekend will be between log leaders Civics FC and Orlando Pirates which will be followed by the match between Santos and Ramblers FC. As in any cup competition it will be difficult to predict the outcome of the games but in the first match Eleven Arrows are the clear favourites to book their place in the semi-final at the expense of Premier league rookies SKW. Arrows last weekend scored eight goals in two premier league matches first narrowly beating relegation threatened Santos 3-2 before demolishing Oshakati City 5-0. The second match between City and Blue Waters appears to be easy to predict with the latter being the clear favourites. But following last weekend's game when City held the Coastal outfit to a goalless draw, City is likely to fancy its chances in the cup competition especially in front of its home crowd. The match between Civics and Pirates could go either way but the log leaders are the slight favourites. Ramblers FC who have lately regained their form are the clear favourites to book their place in the last eight ahead of Santos who have struggled all season. Ramblers who have performed below par given their high standards will be looking at this competition to salvage a silver for what appears to be a disappointing season. Meanwhile, Nampa reports that the Namibia Football Association (NFA) Technical Director (TD) Seth Boois says the national under-20 team lacks premier league exposure. The under-20's will lock horns with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in their African Youth Cup second leg qualifier on Friday at 19h00 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium. The Namibians lost the first leg encounter against the west African state 3-0 in Kinshasha two weeks ago. Speaking to Nampa on Thursday, Boois said that most of the under-20 players are from the first and second divisions and are at the development level. He further said that the players have not reached that level of maturity but was quick to note that coach Bobby Samaria has strengthened the striking force. Boois, who watched the national under-20 team play DRC, described the Congolese side as one of the best under-20 sides in Africa. The Congolese players have been training as a team for over one-and-a-half years and there country's football association is preparing the boys for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. ""They must give the Congolese a run for their money,"" urged Boois. According to him the only disappointment is the fact that the country conceded three goals in their away match. Meanwhile, with the injury picked up by striker Lazarus Kaimbi during practice, the coach has introduced Blue Waters goal-poacher Tangeni Shipahu to cause havoc alongside Chief Santos player Kenny Malgas. The NFA has announced the women's soccer team for the Supreme Council for Sport in Africa (SCSA) Zone Six Youth Games to be held in the capital from 26 June to 4 July. The selected players must report for a training camp in Keetmanshoop starting from 1 to 12 May at the National Youth Hostel. The women soccer team is pitted against Zambia in their opening match of the Zone Six Youth Games. The team consists mostly of players who clinched bronze in the 2005 Ball Games held in Gaborone, Botswana.
