Stolen Car Recovered
"By Anna Ingwafa OSHAKATI Oshana police have recovered a Toyota Camry stolen at Bennies Entertainment Park at Ongwediva last Saturday and have handed it back to its rightful owner. The vehicle belonging to an American volunteer teacher, Jocelyn Jungers, was found abandoned at a T-junction off Omugwelume road in the Oshana region. According to Chief Inspector Golden Naanda, the suspect used an unknown object to open the door and drove away. It is suspected that the car developed a mechanical problem and the suspect decided to abandon it. Junges, a teacher at Kleopas Ndumeni Primary School in the Omusati region, told New Era that she parked her car outside Bennies Entertainment Park on April 26, only to discover it was gone at around 03h00. She alerted the police who acted promptly and informed her about the discovery within two hours. ""I am very grateful for the police's quick response,"" said Jungers Naanda said the police know the suspects and they would be apprehended soon. In separate incidents, police in Oshana recovered two jukebox machines that were stolen last month at Onagolo Bar in Oshakati. The two machines were found at Oshikuku and two suspects were arrested. At Ondangwa on April 25 two armed suspects entered Oniimboto Bar, pointed a pistol at the barmaid and her assistant and made off with a six-pack of Haineken beer. The suspects were not known in the area and no arrests have been made. On April 25, Willem Willem Kulipi (10 months) drowned while the mother was fishing at Omaalala village in the Oshakati area.
