WALVIS BAY – A 24-year-old Swakopmund woman was allegedly raped on Wednesday near the dumping site at the coastal town.
This happened after she requested a lift from an unknown man on her way back home after work.
Crime investigations coordinator for Erongo Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu said on Friday the woman, who lives in Tulinawa, was returning from work around midday and asked for a lift from a stranger, who was driving a pickup truck.
“The suspect drove with the complainant to the dumping site near the Mondesa residential area and had sexual intercourse with her against her will,” Iikuyu narrated.
The suspect, who is on the run, has not yet been identified and police investigations continue.
