Telecom teams up with Ongos Valley

Ongos Valley Development has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Telecom Namibia to commemorate their journey towards developing a smart city. The signing ceremony took place at the Ongos Valley site on Friday.

Telecom Namibia was represented by Chief Executive Officer Stanely Shanapinda while Ongos Valley was represented by Managing Director Americo de Almeida, and chairperson Reagon Graig. Inocencio Verde, Managing Director of RTO Housing Namibia, was also in attendance along with Telecom Namibia, Ongos Valley staff and invited guests.

The objective of the MoU is to set out areas of mutual cooperation with the aim of promoting and developing areas relating to telecommunications and information technology at Ongos Valley.

“Telecom Namibia ensures that with this partnership, Ongos Valley will be a digital, liveable, inclusive and sustainable smart city. The realisation of this smart partnership will undoubtedly serve to promote Ongos Valley as a leading smart city with a robust telecommunications backbone and execute the dream of being the epitome of urban excellence in Africa,” read a statement from Ongos Valley.
