The new soul in Bonganisoul

William Bongani //Garoeb, (34) is not leaving anything to chance as he was recently announced as one of the top 14 contenders on the Search Namibia, a TV show which will crown Namibia’s next singing sensation with a N$100 000.00 prize tag.

Bonganisoul who is not new to the scene with over 13 years in the industry will be the main act at the Night Under the Stars (NUTS), which is back on 05 March 2021. He told Entertainment Now! this will be his first time on the NUTS platform, which he is excited about. “This has been my dream since 2017 and as the universe would have it, it came at the right time. You know everything in Gods time is the right time,” he explained.

The former choir-boy and active choir leader is also set to release his 4th Studio Project, however, it will be his first EP titled ‘35’.

Bonganisoul has teamed up with the likes of talented producer Ponti Dikuua with other productions coming from Al-Jay and Dielo Drums. The featured artist he told this reporter will be his sister Zay-Zay, Saritha and Jerome on one track. However, since this is the debut of Bonganisoul, it will be an entirely solo project with an instrumental feature from the renowned Sam Bathola.

Quizzed as to why he is keen on releasing an EP, he said: “EPs leave people wanting more from the record as opposed to them wanting it to end when it is a full album, so for that reason, I want the souls out there to want more from Bonganisoul. In the future, I will work on an album but for now, EP it is.”

As far as the pandemic is concerned, the soul maestro is making the most of it and not letting it slow him down. “As much as we see a halt in mainstream entertainment events coming to a standstill due to the pandemic & regulations, the industry has advanced to the 4th Industrial Revolution for us. As artists, we need to tap into it and that is the element I want to take advantage of.”

He believes this EP will showcase the new him. “I’ve matured like a fine wine as a vocalist and performer, carefully crafted in Gods image and here to share with the world authentic, soulful sound. I also urge all the beautiful souls to follow my journey on the Search Namibia as we made it to the TOP 14 and support me to bring the grand-prize home,” he concluded.

The show is produced by Search Namibia, in collaboration with the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation.
