Nigerian Afro-pop singer, songwriter, actress Yemi Eberechi Alade was recently on an excursion in the land of the brave, visiting Windhoek, Swakopmund and Sossusvlei.
On Twitter and Instagram, Alade exhibited her love for nature as she captioned her posts: Easter in #Sossusvlei #Namibia.
The international Village Girl said: “Dubai is great, but #Namibia?”
“I had breakfast by the beach front each morning, quad biking in the deserts @desertexplorers, boat sailing on the oceans with @laramon_tours, hiking in the glorious dunes with pink and blue clouds in the sky, great weather and everything nice! How about food? The best oxtail sauce and smoked-barbecued chicken wings I’ve had in a long time, all at @strandhotelswakopmund,” posted Alade to her 13.5 million followers.
Her different posts, consisting of close to 20 pictures, have been widely shared on social media with some social media users questioning whether she came to collaborate with a local artist. “Hope you left a verse or hook in,” posted Carlos Gurirab.
Alade has always been a stern advocate for Africa. She has engaged in advocacy programmes over the years of her music career and others promoting the plight of the continent.
In 2020, Alade joined the United Nations Development Programme to speak for the protection and aiding of poor people across Africa affected by the coronavirus pandemic. She also was featured in the campaign Unite for the Future by Global Citizen. Namibia will surely welcome the African princess back at any time. -firstname.lastname@example.org
