VIBEZ! - Confident |Uiras shares excitement over Miss Universe

Miss Namibia 2023 Jameela |Uiras told VIBEZ! yesterday that she is overwhelmed with support, making her confident, well-composed and ready to fly the Namibian flag higher for the coronation night at the Miss Universe contest in El Salvador next Sunday morning.

|Uiras welcomes the love Namibians have been showing her since she started the journey to Miss Universe.  She has been visible on all media platforms and exudes the confidence of a winner, engaging with her supporters.

“I want to express my heartfelt appreciation once again to the Namibian nation for the unprecedented support and routing for me. The support I get from home makes me want to excel more, as I am representing a whole country and its wonderful people,” she shared excitedly as she came from her participation in the preliminary rounds of the contest.

R’Bonney Gabriel of the United States will crown her successor at the end of the event at the 72nd Miss Universe to be held at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador. The contest is happening on Sunday, 19 November 2023, from 3h00 – 6h00 Namibian time. It will host 83 other contestants from around the world who are gunning for the coveted crown of the year in the pageant industry. National pageant director Umbi Karuaihe-Upi said |Uiras is ready for everything that lies ahead.

“The best part is that she is in a good mental space. We have many talks about her expectations now, and following the competition, and how to deal with whatever the outcome. She has extremely high emotional intelligence, and that gives me comfort that she has great sportsmanship,” she noted. Karuaihe-Upi said they are looking forward to making Namibia more proud of her, as the country’s people are already very proud of her accomplishments so far.

With messages of support and well-wishes pouring in, Miss Namibia 2022 Cassia Sharpley said |Uiras is a queen, and has proved herself to be worthy of taking Namibia to greater heights.

“I wish her the best in this journey. She must believe in herself, and realise the power she holds. She is not only there to carry herself through, she has to carry the whole country and show the world what Namibians are made of. She is able,” she added.

Sharpley said she is excited for |Uiras, and is confident she can represent the country well on that stage, noting that believing in herself that she can make it will go a long way.
