World Music Day (WMD) was celebrated for the 20TH  time worldwide last Saturday.
Some 170 Namibian musicians joined in the global celebrations with a day of love, peace and music at various events countrywide. The celebrations reached a peak on Saturday night when the crème de le crème of local artists performed to a packed to the rafters Warehouse Theatre. Heather and her band Fate of Miss H, Savannah, Sean K, and Savanna Afros (pictures attached) rendered heart-warming performances of their original music. The Franco-Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) hosted this year’s event, held in five different towns countrywide, which provides another huge opportunity for all performing Namibian artists to showcase their talents.  Due to WMD’s growing popularity celebrations took place at two venues, with the first set performing at Palm Tree Park from 10am to 18h00, followed by an eight till late session at the Warehouse Theatre. Annually, communities the world over celebrate WMD on the day of summer solstice. The FNCC with the support of Total Namibia hosted the 20TH  Anniversary of WMD in Namibia.
