Samuels shines with Easter Cup golf tournament win

Samuels shines with Easter Cup golf tournament win

Alvine Samuels emerged victorious at the Easter Cup hosted by the Windhoek Golf Club over the weekend, beating a competitive field of more than 80 golfers.

She clinched the title with 83 points, narrowly edging out Cor Beuke (81 points). Tommy Nangombe followed in third with 80 points, while Sponks Mohale and Bonifatius Paulino tied for fourth with 79 points each.

Club captain Toady Gurirab thanked the Windhoek Golf Club for its continued support for the sport, especially for sponsoring both the daily and overall prizes that made the event a huge success.

The tournament also featured daily divisional prizes and nearest to pin awards.

Divisional prizes: 

Day one:

A-division: Andrè Visser (38 points), B-division: Armand de Klerk (33 points), C-division: Tommy Nangombe (43 points).

Nearest to pin: 

Karl Grundling (three-hole), Shadrek Sibanda (9-hole), Dewalt Coetzee (13-hole), Inocencio Verde (17-hole).

Day two:

A-division: George Vink (39 points), B-division: Bonifatius Paulino (41 points), C-division: Tuna Amutenya (40 points). 

Nearest to pin: Lucy Mohale (three-hole), Van Lill (9-hole), Jan van Wyk (13-hole), Vilho Ndaikile (17-hole).

Day three: 

A-division: Cor Beuke (41 points), B-division: Evelyn Paulinho (37 points): C-division Samuels (43 points).

Day four: 

A-division: Beuke (40 points), B-division: Beuke (40 points), B-division: Chris van Lill (41 points) and Samuel (40 points).
