WINDHOEK – Come April 25, the MTC Nestor Sunshine Boxing and Fitness Academy will host its “Prospect in Action Boxing Bonanza” at the Windhoek Country Club Resort and Casino, mainly featuring the academy’s highly talented upcoming youngsters.

With continuity being one of the academy’s many qualities, Namibia’s internationally-acclaimed boxing promoter Nestor Tobias says the bonanza is part and parcel of
their ongoing development agenda that is aimed at ensuring that new talented boxers smoothly come through the ranks, while also putting special emphasis on the academy’s succession plan.

Topping the bill on that night will be Namibia’s best kept secret and undefeated champion Sakaria ‘Desert Storm’ Lukas, who takes on the much-experienced Issa Nampepeche from Tanzania for vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) Continental Featherweight title.

“This will definitely be his toughest test to date but he goes into the fight with an impressive record of 14 fights and 14 wins, still undefeated as a professional boxer. This fight is important for ‘Desert Storm’ in so many ways because he has to protect his 100 percent record while also gunning for the vacant IBF Continental
title. His opponent, however, comes in more experienced with a record of 27 fights, 20 wins, 3 losses and 4 draws,” says Tobias.

Another promising talent in action on the night will be the highly skillful and hard-punching Jeremiah
Nakathila, who confronts Wilson Masamba from Malawi. The young and ambitious Nakathila will be expected to deliver a great show as usual as a victory will put him in touching distance of a possible title fight in the not too distant future.

Also featuring on the menu is Welterweight boxer Mike ‘Silent Assassin’ Shonena, who squares
off against Limbani Masamba also from Malawi, while Simon Baluka faces another Malawian Boniface Stenala in the Bantamweight division. Super Bantamweight boxer Nathaniel Kamati’s fight against Robert Kachiza from Malawi also leads an assemblage of other thrilling undercard fights on the night.

Tickets for the event cost N$200 while VIP tables that include various refreshments seating 10 people will cost N$10 000.

“While we have boxers in their prime and competitively rated among the best in the world right now, we also have to develop boxers that will fly the Namibian flag high in the future. We are striving for continuity and that is exactly what this bonanza is all about and that’s why we titled it ‘Prospects in Action’.”
