Chief Santos Football Club (CSFC) signed an agreement on Wednesday with Consolidated Copper Corporation (CCC), a leading mining company in Namibia.
Under the new agreement, CCC will serve as the primary sponsor for CSFC.
Branding will be featured at match weekends on the club’s jerseys and across club materials.
The stadium will be renamed CCC as part of the collaboration.
This sponsorship aims to extend beyond the football field, with a focus on uplifting underprivileged youth in Tsumeb.
It will provide match tickets and host events to foster community engagement.
The CEO of CCC John Sisay expressed excitement about the partnership.
He highlighted the company’s commitment to using football as a platform for positive change.
“Chief Santos has a proud legacy of success. This partnership begins a new chapter, building on the club’s traditions and creating opportunities for the community.
“We believe in the power of football to drive change. This is more than a sponsorship. It’s about using the game to empower young people in Tsumeb and beyond,” he added.
Chairman of CS Lilongeni Gurney Geiseb expressed excitement about the partnership.
“Their support extends beyond the pitch, aligning with our vision to empower youth and create a lasting impact in Tsumeb,” he said.
This sponsorship is part of CCC’s broader commitment to sustainable community development.
The company ha s undertaken various initiatives, including planting indigenous trees at its Matchless Mine near Windhoek to promote biodiversity and prevent soil erosion.
In June 2024, CCC partnered with the Electoral Commission of Namibia, of fering the Otj ihase Recreational Hall as a venue for voter registration ahead of the 2024 elections.
Background
Founded in 1969, Chief Santos has earned a respected place in Namibian football history.
The club has won multiple prestigious titles, including two Namibia Premier League championships in 1993 and 1997, as well as the Namibia Football Association Cup in 1991 and 1993.
