KEETMANSHOOP  – The 45-year-old man arrested after being found in possession of suspected unpolished diamonds at the Ariamsvlei border on Tuesday night was granted bail of N$5 000.

Namibian Police investigations coordinator for the //Kharas region, Deputy Commissioner Nikodemus Mbango told Nampa that the accused, Milton Torbet Numbala made his first court appearance in the Karasburg Magistrate’s Court yesterday and his case was postponed to 10 February 2025 for further police investigations.

“It is alleged that the man was found in possession of 33 stones, suspected to be unpolished diamonds upon search at the border post,” added Mbango.

He said Numbala was arrested around 23h55 and charged with the possession of suspected unpolished diamonds.
