Deaf elderly woman raped

The police in Omusati region have arrested a 33-year-old suspect in connection with the rape of a deaf female pensioner last week.
The incident occurred at Eyanda village in the Outapi constituency.
According to the serious crime report, the suspect went into the house of the complainant and found the victim (67) in the house, grabbed her and forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.

The suspect will appear before the magistrate court at Outapi this week.
In another rape incident, a Rehoboth woman was reportedly gang-raped last week by two men.
According to the police, the suspects asked the victim and a friend to accompany them to their residence.
“Once they arrived at the suspect’s house and after having a few glasses of wine, the two suspects started to demand sex from the two friends.
One woman went outside to use the toilet and one of the suspects followed her, grabbed her by her hand, and covered her mouth with his hand.
She managed to escape and ran away.

The suspect then returned to the house where he and his friend overpowered the victim and took turns to rape her.
The suspects are unknown but could be identified,” said the police.
The police appealed to members of the public with the information that will lead to the arrests of the two suspects to come forward and report to the nearest police station.
