NUNW’s boss arrested for alleged fraud
WINDHOEK – Acting secretary general of the  National Union of Namibian Workers (NUNW) Alfred Angula was arrested late yesterday afternoon by the police’s Special Crime Unit. According to the little information available at the time of going to print, Angula was arrested after the donor agency, Fes Belgium, laid charges of fraud against him for the missing money it donated to the Namibia Farm Workers Union (NAFWU). “Yes the guy is arrested on fraud related issues and he is likely to appear in the Katutura Magistrate’s Court tomorrow,” Deputy Police Commissioner, Edwin Kanguatjivi, who is the head of Nampol’s Public Relations Division confirmed to New Era last night. Angula is accused of defrauding NAFWU of more than N$100 000 in donor money. Angula was the secretary general of NAFWU until July 2011, when he took up the position of acting secretary general of NUNW, the umbrella union of all affiliated trade unions in the country, after the departure of Evilastus Kaaronda.   By Kuzeeko Tjitemisa
