Kraatz drives innovation in talent development

Kraatz Engineering, a subsidiary of the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group of Companies, took centre stage at the 2024 Mining Expo held in Windhoek on 7 and 8 August. With the slogan “Engineering the Future”, Kraatz Engineering reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to driving innovation, sustainability, and the development of Namibia’s engineering sector.

The expo provided an excellent platform for Kraatz Engineering to engage with key stakeholders in the mining industry, highlighting its vital role in supporting the sector through cutting-edge engineering solutions. Kraatz Engineering’s participation showcased its alignment with the O&L Group’s vision of contributing to the growth of Namibia’s industries while fostering sustainability and local development.

Engaging with stakeholders

At the Mining Expo, Kraatz Engineering leveraged the opportunity to connect with key clients and industry leaders. These engagements were pivotal in reinforcing Kraatz’s strategic focus on providing forward-thinking solutions tailored to meet the evolving needs of the mining and engineering sectors. The company’s emphasis on collaboration and innovation underscores its mission to contribute to the broader growth of the Namibian economy.

By embracing cutting-edge technology and fostering strategic partnerships, Kraatz Engineering is paving the way for a more sustainable future in Namibia’s industrial landscape. The company’s commitment to world-class excellence and breakthrough leadership was evident throughout the expo, further solidifying its position as a key player in the engineering sector.

Partnering with O&L talent

A highlight of the expo was Kraatz’s collaboration with the O&L Talent team, as they worked together to showcase career opportunities within the O&L Group. The Talent team was on hand to engage with students, graduates, and industry professionals, answering questions and providing insights into the diverse career paths available across the group. This initiative aligns perfectly with Kraatz’s vision of nurturing local talent and building a skilled workforce for the future.

By attracting and developing Namibian talent, Kraatz Engineering continues to contribute to O&L’s purpose-driven vision of creating a prosperous and sustainable future for Namibia. This partnership reflects O&L’s belief that the strength of its businesses lies in the empowerment of its people, and Kraatz Engineering remains deeply committed to playing a leading role in this journey.

Developing engineering talent

As part of its efforts to support local talent development, Kraatz recently signed an agreement with the University of Namibia (Unam). Their partnership with Unam directly supports Namibia’s Vision 2030 and the Chamber of Mines’ mission to foster local talent and drive sustainable growth. Vision 2030 aims to transform Namibia into a prosperous, industrialised nation by focusing on human resource development and building a knowledge-based economy. Similarly, the Chamber of Mines is dedicated to promoting a globally competitive and environmentally responsible mining sector, with an emphasis on nurturing local expertise. By providing mechanical engineering graduates with practical experience, Kraatz is helping to ensure Namibia has the skilled workforce needed to fuel its industries, aligning with national goals of economic transformation and sustainable development.
