Lira to share her life’s journey

Home Time Out Lira to share her life’s journey

Windhoek

The last time South Africa’s multi-award winning Lira (real name Lerato Molapo) visited Namibia is when she headlined the 5th edition of the Windhoek Jazz Festival in 2012.

This time, Lira, also referring to herself as Miss Lira, is coming back on August 20, at the Warehouse Theatre, not just to perform, but to share her successful journey as an artist and a businesswoman under the “Master Class evening with Lira.” This event will be different from others because it will be an evening of mentoring, reflections, insights and inspiration by the phenomenal Lira, as she talks about her journey as musician, muse, the voice mentor and businesswoman to become an original African icon.

The event will be followed by her performing a couple of her original songs that have been significant to her along her path. Lira is a multi-platinum award winning South African singer and songwriter. She has graced the covers of numerous fashion & lifestyle magazines and won a multitude of accolades from the South African Music Awards (SAMs), MTV Africa Awards, Channel O Awards, Metro FM and MOJO Awards, as well as Glamour Magazine South Africa’s 2008 “Woman of the Year.”

Lira is the first African artist to release a full HD DVD in Blu Ray (3 x Platinum) in 2009 and is one of the highest selling vocalist in South Africa – Platinum selling albums Feel Good (2006), Soul in Mind (2008), Live in Concert; A Celebration (2009) and Return to Love (2011). She has six studio albums, three concert DVDs, an autobiography and this April she released her first independent studio album – Born Free.

All her successes will be shared during the Master Class evening. Lira merchandise will be for sale at the event and attendees can have it personally autographed by her. Tickets are N$200, and are available on staytoday.com.na and at the MY REPUBLIK fashion store in the Grove Mall. Doors will open at half past six in the evening and the event will start at seven O’clock in the evening.
